RE/MAX Founders Honored for $100M in Contributions

Gloom and doom seems all the rage for the housing market, but at least one real estate company bucked bad news with the announcement of a community achievement award.

The ""Children's Miracle Network Hospital"":http://childrensmiraclenetworkhospitals.org/ plans to recognize ""RE/MAX, LLC"":http://www.remax.com/, founders ""Dave"":http://www.linkedin.com/pub/dave-liniger/17/a75/578 and ""Gail Liniger"":http://www.siue.edu/alumni/aboutalumni/linigergail.shtml at an event Saturday for their role in inspiring more than $100 million in contributions from company personnel.

Calling a nearly 20-year partnership between their company and the nonprofit ""one of the most impactful in CMN Hospitals' history,"" the network will honor the movers and shakers with the 2011 Children's Miracle Network Hospitals Founders Award ├â┬ó├óÔÇÜ┬¼├óÔé¼┼ô an award it bestows only five individuals from across North America.

A statement credited the Linigers with launching The Miracle Home Program in association with RE/MAX, which

makes it possible for agents and brokers to offer 100 percent of their individual contributions to their local Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.

Praise for the pair poured forth from a statement.

""In 1983, our organization's founders envisioned a vast network of caring business leaders, community partners and everyday heroes working together to help kids in need,"" ""John Lauck"":http://childrensmiraclenetworkhospitals.org/About/ExecBios, president and CEO of Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, said in a statement. ""Dave and Gail Liniger embody that vision, and their actions no doubt inspire RE/MAX employees to do the same. We are proud to honor the example they've set.""

""While the Linigers are honored to be recognized, it's the work of the entire RE/MAX Network that makes the Linigers most proud,"" added Mike Reagan, SVP for business alliances with the network. ""Each year, RE/MAX offices and agents across North America and beyond host annual events like golf tournaments, RE/MAX hot air balloon festivals and motorcycle rides, which have generated a significant amount of donations.""

Commenting on the award, Gail Liniger said in the statement, ""Nearly 20 years ago, we decided to align with an organization that cares about families as much as RE/MAX agents do. Children's Miracle Network was doing amazing things for sick children and their families, and we just had to be a part of it.

""We're very proud of the way RE/MAX people have worked so hard for kids in their communities,"" she said.
