Having founded Hallmark Home Mortgage in 2006, Deborah Sturges, the company's CEO, created USA Wholesale Lending last year as a supplement to Hallmark's retail lending offerings.

Sturges recruited Howard Hoyt to run the new division. Hoyt has 30 years' experience in the mortgage industry, most recently as divisional VP of wholesale lending at Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation.

In addition to administering a menu of agency and government loan programs, USA Wholesale Lending also provides contract loan processing and fulfillment services.

""Howard's and my priorities are aligned on what the wholesale market wants and needs,"" Sturges said of Hoyt.

Hoyt hopes to expand the company's reach to 32 states over the next 36 months.

""The objective is to generate closed loan production of a billion dollars annually,"" Hoyt said, adding, ""The way we'll get there is by helping our clients compete, to maximize revenues and to capitalize on opportunities in their markets.""

Struges suggests technology will play a key role in the company's success. ""We're investing in technology and refining the process to bring rapid response, fast underwriting turn times and Hallmark Home Mortgage quality to USA Wholesale Lending's business proposition,"" she said.

""Operations are centralized in Fort Wayne, but we are leveraging talent from many places via technology for the benefit of our clients,"" Sturges said.

Hoyt also emphasized the company is currently ""recruiting top quality professionals all across the country"" as the company prepares for growth in 2013.
